Why I Love My Cricut
When I first heard people talking about their “cricut,” I thought they were talking about a pet insect and couldn’t picture in my mind what it had to do with scrap booking. When I saw the Cricut the first time in use, I thought I should possess. The way the machine and engraves the required lettering and outlines had me captivated. I have also found that there are many applications for the Cricut beyond just scrapbooking. It helped me prepare for Girls’ Camp, parades, various projects, vinyl lettering projects, and making cards.
I needed a sign for Our summer girls’ camp, so I called one of the teenage girls in my neighborhood. We picked up some vinyl. After a little coaching, this teenage girl was able to required the lettering we place it on and construct our camp flag. She was so excited she wanted one for herself. The flag looked professional and she felt great. I was so very thankful that day.
Next, I am hoping to do a vinyl lettering project in my home just one more fun way to use my cricut. Vinyl lettering is being used on blocks, or wooden signs, and I have even seen people put their favorite quotes directly on the wall which looks really good when done right. It’s nice I no longer have to worry about the price of professional made vinyl lettering. Now, I have an easy way to create my own projects and be proud of the outcome.
On another occasion, I needed to cut a sign for a local parade. I didn’t have much notice and I wondered how I could finish in time. My husband advised that I should take this chance to make use of my Cricut which took about 50 minutes. Everyone at the parade was really captivated by my sign and kept asking us how we made it. When I told them about the Cricut, one person even asked if she could try mine out. I soon found that Almost everyone I talked to really loved this great little scrapbooking tool.
My little boy was the spotlight at his school. Instead of fretting about his spotlight chart, I used my Cricut to quickly design a ingenuous and delightful photomontage about him. Now I know with just an easy slide of a button, I can make the lettering any size that I need to fit the poster board. There are also some very nice accents that come with the cutter that I use to decorate my projects, big and small. Another awesome feature of the Cricut is that I can use the shadow feature if I don’t want to deal with individual letters. It’s nice how this unit was layed out to help me do so much in so little time.
I’m in charge of teacher appreciation at my little boy’s school, so I have to remember every teacher’s birthday. On their birthdays, I give the teacher a little treat and a fancy card. I have a very small budget from the school, but I still want the teachers to receive individual cards on their birthdays so I use my cricut which saves me time and helps me come in under budget. And, I save enough money to give the teachers a bigger gift which really shows our appreciation.
